Guest Blog: Transcribing Bond…James Bond

Part of the fun of interacting with our customers is finding out what they’re working on.  Filmmaker Matthew Bowyer is working on a documentary about real life James Bonds…though perhaps not what you think:

‘The Other Fellow’ is a documentary about the lives of real men around the world – who are named James Bond. We filmed Bond’s in the USA, Canada, South America and Europe and conducted interviews with them and their families to find out what it’s like to live in the shadow of the *other *James Bond – Agent 007.

In the end we had over 25 hours of interview footage to sort through and having them transcribed became a must so we could quickly locate specific phrases and words during editing. In a film that is all about finding connections between these men, certain phrases such as “blessing and a curse” and “icebreaker” came up all the time, and through  our InqScribe transcription we have been able to locate these quickly across the different interviews without having to trawl through hours of footage every time. Inqscribe’s ability to insert timecode from the footage into the text has been a lifesaver that saves you a lot of time, money and frustration during the expensive process of post-production.

Here is a trailer for the film:
