Although <a title=\"How do I get Final Cut Pro markers to work?\" href=\"http:\/\/support.inqscribe.com\/knowledgebase\/articles\/34119-how-do-i-get-final-cut-pro-markers-to-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">InqScribe doesn&#8217;t support true Final Cut Pro markers yet<\/a>, you can create a custom Snippet to quickly insert a short note about a video.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, let&#8217;s say you want to note every time the video changes perspective to the second camera.\u00a0We can create a Snippet that inserts the current timecode, the text &#8220;CAMERA 2&#8221;, and then the out timecode 1 second later.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.inquirium.net\/inqscribe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Obama-Video-Camera-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Obama Video Camera 2\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.inquirium.net\/inqscribe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Obama-Video-Camera-2.png\" alt=\"Obama Video Camera 2\" width=\"342\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open up your InqScribe transcript and select &#8220;Edit &gt; Edit Snippets&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>In the Edit Snippets menu, click &#8220;Add&#8221; and enter a name for your new creation. &#8220;Marker 1&#8221; will do.<\/li>\n<li>Select a trigger key for your Snippet.\u00a0Make sure to set it to an available trigger key (<a title=\"Tips for assigning keyboard shortcut triggers\" href=\"http:\/\/support.inqscribe.com\/knowledgebase\/articles\/406216-tips-for-assigning-keyboard-shortcut-triggers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">see this article for some suggestions<\/a>). You could set it to Ctrl-Shift-; or Command-Shift-; if you&#8217;re already accustomed to using the Ctrl-; or Command-; shortcut combination to insert timecodes.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the following into the Snippet text area and then click &#8220;Done&#8221;:<br \/>\n<strong>{$time} CAMERA 2 {$time_offset(00:00:01.00)}<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once you press the Snippet&#8217;s trigger, it will output to the following (assuming pressed 23 seconds into the video):<\/p>\n[00:00:23.00] CAMERA 2\u00a0[00:00:24.00]\n<p>If you want to adjust the amount of time the out timecode is &#8220;offset&#8221; from the in timecode, you can adjust the value in the parenthesis. More Snippet variables are listed in our <a title=\"Link: http:\/\/docs.inqscribe.com\/2.2\/snippetvariablereference.html\" href=\"http:\/\/docs.inqscribe.com\/2.2\/snippetvariablereference.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> User Guide here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARNING<\/strong>: Watch out for overlapping timecodes.\u00a0The out timecode of the first subtitle must come before the in timecode of the next subtitle.\u00a0In the\u00a0example above, if you have a timecode that&#8217;s placed less than a second after the previous one, it would cause timecode overlap.
